The painting is a depiction of Catherine of Siena being mystically married to Christ. She is shown kneeling waiting to receive a ring from the infant Christ. Christ is shown seated on Mary’s lap and appears to be preparing to put a ring on Catherine’s finger. Angels are peering down on them from Heaven.
